TCU vs MULF2 retrofit - Matthew53 - 18-03-2019

Hello.
Few days ago, a friend brought me E60 2004 with TCU originally and said to retrofit with MULF2-HIGH SVS BASIS.
I've done everything what is needed:

Connected most, bluetooth antena, USB cable,  main plug (pins 17, 36 power), (pins from AUX connected via external cable). Everything accordingly to the scheme.

Then decoded S638 and coded S6FL, S644 and CAPPL, KOMBI and SGM.

i-level is 07-09 (cappl newer one, without 'honeycomb')

AUX is visible in entertainment now, but can't get into it. Also this ulf isn't visible in ISTA-D ecus tree.

Have tried this ulf with the same config with my e92 2006 and everything works well (can get into aux, listen to usb etc., also ulf is visible in ISTA tree)

Thank you for all the tips.

I thought that CD changer is the problem, so I skiped the cd changer by connector loop and the light in diagnostic interface in glove box blink normally now (with cd changer was blinking like a crazy) and I thought the problem was resolved. However CCC suddenly stoped responding. No voice, no Idrive.

Can CCC cause the problem itself?
When CCC start receiving the correct signal from loop - it stop working. When the loop is open and navi doesn't receive the signal - navi works fine.

Nice work. Did you document it with pictures?
Can you put the schematic ?

I didn't but you can find everything in the link below....

Schematic is actually:
mic pins 1,19,21
power 17,36
Sometimes main plug and bluetooth antena has to be modified a little to fit to the Mulf2, the rest is plug&play.
Coding correct FA (S6FL -aux/usb and S644-tel. with bluetooth), deleting (S638 - tcu)

try to reboot CCC, after that, it usualy start work

i have different problem - are you able to code MULF2? old e60 with clasic key, i'm not able to code mulf, afterwards i'm able to play music, but not able to enable bluetooth in menu. have to code it in some different car/or my desk setup afterwards it works.

I'm carrying out most reset and CCC reboot after connecting the loop, but without the result.

I can't either, also have old e60. You are probably not able to code it in car, because there was TCU originally, not mulf2, so the car can't recognize this newer ecu. In my case I have no connection in loop so can't code it.

Read FA from cas, and notes is. Close NCS then change setup in ediabas.ini from remote to REMOTE:MOST_ASYNC_ab625, and the port from 6801, to 6802. Save and close the ini file. Connect most adapter in glovebox. Open NCS, and add manual your VIN. Than use this prepared FA: E60_#0909*NB31$609$644$6FL$6UD

This FA use only MULF coding, and use ncs dummy for bluetooth setup.

did you change time criterion? try #0307

Yes, I've changed to #0408. Mulf2 obviously appear in ECU list, but couldn't code it due to malfunction of loop, which is probably the CCC corruption.

Have to figure out if CCC can be demaged the way that can't process the signal from the loop and then crash.

In old car (with classic key) the mulf2 coding only MOST channel possible.
