F20 6WB retrofit with H/K Audio - Elmo111 - 20-03-2019
Hi,
I want to retrofit the 6WA cluster in to my 07.15 F20. The vehicle has NAV 606 and the H/K system.
I believe that having the H/K system (using MOST connector), and the 6WA cluster. uses MOST too. How is this retrofit possible when the H/K system is also using MOST?

the concept of Most connection is to make a closed loop between ECU's ( ex : Headunit MOST output goes to Cluster MOST input , Cluster Most output goes to amplifier MOST input , amplifier Most output goes to Headunit input ..
you can buy something like this from ebay which is ready made , offcourse some modifications to the END of each plug is needed . I don't know about your knowledge so I can give more information upon request .

After a bit more googling, I can see that the HK system is not part of the MOST ring, you're right!
I've read reports of successful external amp retrofits that do become part of MOST, but I think that's for another day...

I've read reports of successful external amp retrofits that do become part of MOST, but I think that's for another day...

It is because BMW made a "higher" audio level then high audio system
For F2x vehicle, H/K amp is 360W without MOST
For F3x vehicle, H/K amp is 600W with MOST
These 2 amp can be crossover by proper wiring and FDL coding; my F20 had retrofitted H/K amp 600W with MOST.

The pin assignment and connector are totally different between non MOST H/K amp and MOST H/K amp; I’ve custom made a new harness, amp <-> speakers with those hifi “Gold x Silver” cable; and the 600W MOST H/K amp got standalone 2-pin power port, I’ve connected to battery terminals; also MOST fibre, dropped the amp into existing MOST ring.
