"Passenger restraint fault" - how to clear code? - Elmo111 - 21-03-2019

Hi everyone,

Recently change the seats in my F20. I forgot to plug the connections in underneath the passenger seat, connected the battery and then started the car and now it says "passenger restraint fault".

I know there isn't anything wrong with the passenger side or the airbags, so how do I go about clearing the error from iDrive and the dashboard?

I've tried Esys and the error still shows, should I try using Rheingold?

Thanks!

looks like you understood the concept is the opposite direction here , Esys is not for clearing faults ,, yes Rheingold is what you need .

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm unpacking Rheingold now but my Macbook (running windows 10) doesn't have enough space for the install...

Is there any way to code out the passenger side restraints/airbag? Or suppress the error via FDL coding?

Thank you!

How about clearing the faults with INPA?

Hey, thanks for the reply. Realistically I'm looking for the quickest/simplest method of getting rid of that one singular fault.

The car itself is going to auction tomorrow, and from my error in not connecting the seat back before I connected the battery has seemingly caused this issue...

Even if I could FDL code out the passenger seat restraints, I'd be happy with that.

Thanks!

You say you changed the seats? Which seats? If the system says there is a fault then there is!! If Esys is not deleting the error then recheck your plug connection. If ok you will need ISTA to carry out a test plan

Sorted,

Managed to install Rheingold and boot the necessary files via a microSD card instead of the internal disk! Clearing the fault codes couldn't have been simpler.

Thanks for your time to those who'd made suggestions!

Clearing faults using e-sys transmiter, Clear DTC function would have saved you time and hassle...
