CG PRO 9S12 - sebastianfernandes - 31-03-2019

Hello Everyone

Wanted some with experience with this tool CG PRO 9S12, which i purchased from Aliexpress.
Got the tool yesterday, downloaded the latest software from it from www.cgprogcar.com.
Installed the software and connected the device.
But i get error message "device detected, being identified" after that "device not connected"
Tried to contact their support no reply yet.
Does the device need to be activated by them first?
There is a option for "Device Initialization" but it asks for a password?
thinking
Any one with similar experience?

Regards
Sebastian

Hey, I think everybody that buys one of these has this question, myself included.
The device needs to be connected to 12 volt power in order to function and be detected by the computer. Once powered up, it will authorize itself. I can't imagine why they didn't include the power adapter considering it is required.
You'll also notice a message about "30 days remaining" or something like that. The device just needs to authorize with their server every so often to remain active. I suspect this is to prevent counterfeiting. It automatically reactivates itself for free.

I have the same problem! My device worked a few days ago until suddenly it stopped working and is the same problem! Even after connecting the 12v power supply. There is probably a 3V battery in the middle, it seems to me that from the moment of connecting this device is powered by this battery and counts down the time to deactivate because it has a built-in battery. I can be wrong ... I was afraid that my device was damaged but I see that not only I have this problem. Coincidence?

I found that my firewall would create problems with software activation, so I disable firewalls when starting the CG software.

No problems with activation or online connection. A friend told me but it happens from time to time that breaks the connection, then you should try it another day.

In my case, I had to send back the equipment for a warranty. This is funny, I used it several times. He broke down unused after a week.

thanks -
You already tried without success ?
Some people speak about the fact it doesn't work on the PCB (like for old eeprom using SOP8 clip on the board), so must desolder before the tool will be able to decode mileage.

RE: CG PRO 9S12 - sebastianfernandes - 15-06-2019

Some reported success reading it probably 5% even when desoldered and using the 35160wt adapter from cgprog. Not done myself so I cannot tell you.
