Beginner Questions :-) - Screwdrivekiller - 04-04-2019

Hello everybody,
first, sorry for my poor english sad

I'm pretty new in this Forum and of course, I have a lot of questions.... smile
I've read many threads but this is all new for me...

I don't know the abbreviations and there meanings... :sad
But sure I will learn... smile

I have an MPPS flasher (OBD), bought on ebay and read the File (is this the ECU?) from my VW T4 Transporter.
I send this File to a "Garage-Chiptuning-Company" and get an "tuned" file back.
Everything works fine - but every File costs 300€!
My Idea:
I have a lot of friends with the same T4 (same engine). I want to put the "tuned" file to there cars, but it does'nt work. I read somthing about lock/unlock/remap?!
How can I Unlock these files an put it to theire cars?
Does i need WinOLS? I Think i have to change the control-unit-id? Right?

I hope you can help me....
Attached you find the original and the tuned File...

Kind Regards

It is not important if you have same engines, most important is that u have same hw sw numbers of ecu's (if you just want to write same file)
And to made by yourself maps than u need Winols and also good winols training.

thanks for this quick reply! My final goal (for the moment) is to write the Files I've bought to oder (same) cars. What is to do, if the sw number is different? Is there a "easy" way?

I've tried (naively) to put my bought file to an other (identical) T4 (sw not checked).
After flashing the car wouldn't run.... I contacted the tuner and he said: "You think I'm dump? I have locked my files!"
Is this possible?

Yes everything is possible. Easiest way to "copy" the file is to compare it in winols and change in their file what's changed in yours. Problem is without a deeper understanding you'll probably mess it up . Best of luck

How can I see what's changed in this two files? Can anyone explain it to me?
