Difficulty getting PC to communicate with BMW X5 F15 via ENET - fatfash - 17-04-2019

I am having difficulty getting my laptop to communicate with my X5 F15 via ENET. It can communicate with the car  via ICOM but would not via ENE. I need help getting this resolved.

Thank you

Ediabas setup up as “Enet”
Just use easyconnect utility and setup..
Interface - Enet
IP address - autodetect
And your network adapter should be set to automatic ip
Hope it helps..

I often have to disconnect and reconnect the battery to reset the gateway if it doesn't show with ESYS

I assume ICOM is usein D-CAN to communicate with car. You can see which is being used in ISTA.

I've had to do the same.

If you first use ICom and straight after that enet cable I also experience issues. I always close drive door lock. Force sleep with ista. Wait till start button and hazard illumination is off. After that plug enet cable in obd. This works for me.

This was the last thing I did after several failed attempts. I used to do this when I had cloned ICOM, thought it was the ICOM that was the issue.

Thanks for this info

Thank you, will also consider this method

Net Work and connection settings bring up lan settings,

Set,

IPV4 Settings,

169.254.1.1
255.255.0.0

Works for me on all cars with ENET
