VCI not connected to DiagBox PC - topdeel - 02-05-2019

Hi PSA specialists  biggrin

I have a problem with installing the Lexia 3 VCI (DiagBox program) on the Dell D505 laptop with XP SP3. Interestingly, the interface works on Acer laptop and virtual MVware machine with XP SP3 (vehicle communication, firmware update, etc.). Also, the interface works on a Lenovo laptop PC with XP SP3 (communicates with the vehicle, adjusts the firmware to the exact version, etc.).

When I connect the VCI to the Dell D505 laptop with freshly installed XP SP3 and run the DiagBox V7.57 program, either if I choose Lexia or PP2000 the program informs me that the VCI IS NOT CONNECTED.

I try to solve this mystery all day but without success.  shake

Basically I have the correct VCI, but it's probably a problem in the software that I installed on a Dell laptop. The only difference I noticed between the XP SP3 operating system is in the Device Manager.

Why does the Dell D505 in Device Manager show a different driver compared with to Acer and Lenovo?

1. Acer VMware - ACTIA USB Com Board Evolution Driver (Multi-Instance)
2. Lenovo - ACTIA USB Com Board Evolution Driver (Multi-Instance)
3. Dell - ETACS Decoder Devices

If anyone has an idea for this problem, please share it with us.

Thanks

Just try to plugg it in other USB port.
Or uninstall and delete the ETACS driver
Then plug the VCI and see what happend. Install the driver manually.
This is at what I think.
I never had this issue no matter in which computer I installed.
And now I cannot even try because I am using Diagbox v9.xx in Win 7
Good luck

@mattydr67

you sent a logical answer to my problem ..

I'm trying to do it all. Uninstall ETACS driver and change USB, but when I reconnect the device the same problem arises. I tryed to instal manualy ACTIA USB Com Board Evolution Driver (Multi-Instance) driver but Device Manager says it's ETACS Decoder Devices - ACTIA Evol XS for ETACS Decoder 2

@nack76

Firmware is Ok. V4.3.2 works well with V7.57 DiagBox

I'm asking for some more suggestion and advice

If you cannot install the correct driver that it is working for you in the other computers you camnot do much more.
The point is that the drivers not be installed automatically. And you have to install it manually. If its possible. If its not possible then Iyou can try to make an acronis image of one of your computer where everythings is ok and install it in the one where isn't works.
Then install only that computers system drivers.
Or start again from scartch again and install PSA XS Evolution correct drivers imediatlly after v7.02 is installed.
It could be a waist of time but I don't have anything else in my mind now. As I said I hadn't this issue anymore. No matter in which computer I installed the correct drivers was allocated for the VCI
Good luck
