Hello,
i have RNS 510 from passat and i wan't to update firmware because is not possible to change language in RNS 510.
Dash is in french but rms 510 is in deutsch
Normally with update rns 510, prolem are solved.
I don't know what version of firmware choose.
I have in my passat CC, this modele of RNS 510:
Part number 1T0035680C
HW version H06
Sw version 2720
Hw vehicle 0xc801
You know if it's possible to make update firmware and what firmware choose please ?

Last FW for your radio is SW2850.

Yes I did many times but with newer units, but the procedure is the same.
It is pretty easy infact.
I will have to find it, but will post tomorrow.

PROCEDURE FOR UPDATE RNS-510
First of all, download the firmware you want to install.
Burn it using Nero, UltraISO or another program at the lowest speed possible.
Preferably on DVD + R, even if CD (if there is above).
Requirements:
1. battery charge
2. if you perform a downgrade, that is going to install a previous FW to enable you to downgrade your service menu of your ships.
Steps:
1. Open the machine.
2. DO NOT put the key in the ignition!
3. Using the power button, turn on the RNS-510.
4. Extract from RNS-510 CD or DVD and SD card if they were entered.
5. Insert the CD – DVD containing the new software.
6. RNS-510 should reset after a while and ask you to confirm your action, you must click OK.
7. Wait a few minutes and you'll get a question, click OK again.
8. Start the update process, which takes approximately 55 minutes, with the RSN-510 will reboot several times, also turns off the screen in some cases, do not be nervous, be patient and tight ass!
9. Wait for the download to finish, at the same time, a message "Your upgrade sistem OK! Reasons .....".
10. when it comes out on CD - DVD (automatically) remove it and 'RNS-510 will reboot.
