MSV80.1 clone / virgin / winkfp? - mugenman1111 - 21-05-2019
Can WinKFP clean this DME for install into new car or do i need to clone old DME somehow?
There is no BDM /JTAG /boot mode for this DME so cloning is not realistic to me... Kess v2 reads 2mb file over OBD but not sure if this is OK to write back to junkyard DME for "cloning"

can not do it by kess only map areas avalible..need to transfer ISN first and than flash corect zb no. to donor ecu, or clone ecu with right tools..

KTAG does not show MSV80.1 as compatible model. What other tool do you suggest to read ISN from DME?
Should read ISN from donor DME and transfer to CAS or read from CAS then transfer to DME
curious what tool to use for this

I think you can only change ISN in CAS. So read ISN from used DME & write to CAS

you can clone full ecu with ori tools ...ktag,trasdata,x17 . did many this way or you can use cheap cgdi and change isn in cas, program and code it with ista. works too.

what version KTAG support msv80.1?
I have ktag & kess master
also have istad/p setup
in older BMW you can just virgin the DME and resync EWS to DME
in this case I have to write ISN from DME to CAS
OR proper clone the MSV80.1 (would prefer this)
if i can proper clone with Ktag do i just choose msv70 and go with that BDM pin out?
or can you tell me if i can just sync CAS > DME with ISTA and it won't bitch

ktag clone will not read msv80 (its different ecu than msv70 ). And you cant just sync dme-cas with ista because it will not work. To properly clone it you need ori ktag,trasdata etc . Full read bdm with isn number.
find someone local to you who has vvdi2, cgdi, bmw explorer, autohex, ori avdi. Those tools can match it by obd.
