How to check latest firmware versions and NTG5s1 question - reverend - 19-06-2019
I bought a 2015 e220d S212 facelift two weeks ago and trying to update the NTG5s1 so I can enable Android Auto via an OBD2 enabler unit I have bought.
I took it to a garage last week and they didn't do the NTG5s1 update due to issues and said they had updated the engine and transmission firmware.
This is why I've gone down the route of buying a VCXDiag C6 with DOIP so I can do it myself - is there any easy way to check the latest firmwares for the engine and auto transmission modules anywhere without the SCN login or is that required to do the check please?
I just want to check if they actually did do any updates at all.
I have the part numbers and software versions from the Xentry health check if that helps please?
Also am I right in thinking there is no way of updating the NTG5s1 with the C6 (equivalent MB Xentry Connect / VCI) without the SCN login and Telematics DVD? I have heard it's possible via SD-card only but that update method is very expensive for the solution for my one car as I don't think it's public knowledge.
Just double checking before I pay someone to log me in via Xentry.
I read it could be done with Vediamo but my VCI cable doesn't work with that, just Xentry and DTS and I don't know if DTS will do a DOIP update to the NTG5s1 or just CAN updates to the older non-DOIP modules?
I'm still learning at the moment and plenty to learn with these Mercedes
