VAG EDC17CP20 Patch ktag help (obd unlock) - mimmo-dj - 25-08-2019
Hi everyone,
I ask information to the most expert of unlocking control units (reading and writing from obd).
I own kess v2 5.017 and ktag 7.020 (clone) version ksuite 2.23.
I'm working on a edc17cp20 bosch 0281016141 (HW 03L906019AL - SW 03L906022NP 5073), the first time the ktag gave me the possibility to apply the patch but I didn't. now the word doesn't come out anymore.
how do i apply the patch now?
I need to unlock this unit to write it from the obd.

no patch option to your file to edc17cp20 , only edc17cp04 and edc17cp14

You can safely write a virtual read from Alientech with kess 5.017 via obd, I did this many times.
Ktag MPC file shouldn’t be too a problem to write via OBD.
The EDC17CP20 kess protocol needs before writing also the ori file for comparison, guess for the checksum calculation, but once I hadn’t ori file, just picked twice the modfile and worked too, car started.
