got a bmw e46 and bought a used instrument cluster & want to change the vin number, got a digiprog 3.
can anyone give me some instructions or a link on how to maybe?
the chip is 35080

Post a picture of the back of your instrument cluster board.
There were many variants.
Unless you want to pull needles (dangerous) to access the eeprom directly.

theres no danger to taking needles off on e46 twist and pull .

I think you're right.
I've done many E46 M3 and E38/39/53. Those can be a pain.

best Tool to 35080 VVDI prog or R270, try with him!
