hud turns off after 15 minutes - 6WB retrofit - smilo - 16-09-2019
Hi guys,
On F30 35iX from 07.2012 with HU_CIC + 6WA + HUD from factory, HU_NBT2 id6 + 6WB was installed. All works correctly, except HUD turns Off after 15 minutes.
I know some people got this issue, but the HUD turns off after only 30 seconds.
Is there a way to flash the HUD to the last iLevel ? it's not an active ECU as for F0x/F1x, so I don't think possible with Esys - with ISTA ?
Any idea please ?

Post your fa and svt.ist and I'll create you a working tal for flash.

for F30, HUD is handled by the kombi, in your case it's 6WB.

Yes, for sure Simonchs.
But the question is how to resolve the HUD turning off after 15 minutes. The Dkombi is brand new with ILevel 03/2019 (I think)

Try to update both FEM / HU / KOMBI, some days ago my F31 6WB HUD issue solved by update these 3 ECUs.

Just helping smilo now. currently his svt is showing bkombi, he needs to write the correct ecu's to vcm so we can create a correct tal for flash. There are a few ECU's needing an update.

In fact, VCM_read from the car shows correctly DKombi - check VCM_Final sent Dayv.
HU_NBT2 was flashed to 07/18 (to support my FSC), and the DKombi is latest part reference from BMW with iLevel 03/19.
Do you think FEM flash will be needed ?
You speak about other ECU to update, more details please ?

I have 4 people with same HUD issue after new 6WB retrofit. On 3 of those it happened once or twice in few month time, they don’t bother about at all. One with 2012 do after 10, 15, 30 whatever minutes.
All cars have latest software already, all those 6WB are post 02/2019 production, same part number, can’t be updated as have latest already.
Fitted about 20 of those part numbers for cars without HUD, no problems whatsoever.

I had disappearing hud and it was solved by resoldering 6wb hud fakra connector.

I’ve emailed the files mate with a screenshot of the ECU’s requiring an update. Obviously from some of the replies this is a common issue. I’m not sure that a brand new Kombi would need the FAKRA resoldered though? Maybe it’s another issue?
