RE: BMW BDC Bench Flashing - CryptMan - 10-04-2022

Hi,

does anybody know what happens when I erase (write 0x00 or 0xFF) to both M95256 of an BDC?
I ask because I have a used BDC for bench setup but have no matching keys.
I can set KL15 on via Tool32 which results in startup of my connected cluster, but it looks like I can't change coding.

Would it be possible to learn a "virgin" key to it?
Or will I brick it if the EEPROMS had been cleared once. Or can I write back a backup an get back the actual state?

Sorry for may asking stupid questions.

Best regards

You can use INPA to turn on "assembly mode" (STATUS / KLEMEN and last mode). Then you will be able to turn on the ignition (KL15). Of course you must have a key, start / stop button - or FEM platform. I do this way and I can flash and code in Esys. Personally, I use the FEM module and clocks on the bench with the platform

Thanks for your help, really apreciate it...
Seems my connectors are equal to yours in terms of possitions.. the main issue is that i dont have eternet connection and ignition is not openned...

Update
Had to trace continuity to connector 8 and obd2, all was a mess...I have connection now, but not turning ignition....key is working,,,

Update 2
Fem flashed... thanks again Cowboy...INPA did the trick.. thanks for that hint

I made a small video of how to turn on the KL15 using INPA. My FEM is with ELV. Sometimes you have to press the F8 button in INPA several times for it to work. Once this mode is on you will always get KL 15 even if you use ICOM or ENET together with E-sys
