Mini R56 - Cannot reset VANOS adaptations - maxwell4321 - 15-01-2022

Been pulling out what's left of my hair with this,

Car is 2006 Mini R56 with N12 engine, DME is MED172

No matter what I cannot get the VANOS adaptations reset,

ISTA+ reports IFH-006 Command not accepted

Tried 3 different versions of INPA and datens including the one posted here today by @Maron
All the INPA's reported ERROR #98 SYS-0008 JOB NOT FOUND,

Ideas please

What ilevel does the mini have?

RE: Mini R56 - Cannot reset VANOS adaptations - maxwell4321 - 15-01-2022

I believe it has never had the iLevel updated so it will be the original 2006

There was a vanos firmware fix at some point don’t remember from what ilevel. So try to update dme first if it has old ilevel.

RE: Mini R56 - Cannot reset VANOS adaptations - maxwell4321 - 16-01-2022

Trying to update by WinkFP using Update ZUSB and VIN then when I select Program I get this error,

Assembly identification number not found in files determined by xxkfconf.da2

According to UIF DME is MEV17_2 ZB is 7572260 but part number is 7600076
I looked up the part numbers on realoem for replacement ECU and that number does not exist.

Ok have now solved this, updated ILevel with Ista/P and used Ista+ to reset the adaptations
