Ive got a 1J golf with this engine, this pump and this ecu, they've changed pump from other vehicle and now its immo'ed, can it be immo off and if so what chip is inside the ECU that I have to read

this injection pump is not tied with the immo. only on 2.5tdi pump is part of immobiliser

open the ecu and read 8 pin eeprom, it't 93xxx i think

OK, I dont really know the history of the vehicle, its a non runner and I have code:
17978 - engine start blocked by immobilizer
We've tried both key and same problem

this dtc may be old. are your immo light on dash is blinking? maybee pump timing is not set correctly

I cleared the DTC and it come back straight away with just ignition cycle, I have opened the ECU, I cant find eeprom 93xxx ?

Is their a 24cxx or 95xxx ?

no,not any 24cxx or 95xxx but I found it, its mast is b58253, I read as 24c02 8 bit, can someone immo off for me please, the hardware number of this ECU is:
038 906 018 BL
0 281 001 845
