CBS - brakes 255% E9x - Darmand - 22-01-2022

Hi all

A strange problem.

E92 M3 - 2012, looses power when reset of brake Pads by Kombi (new BMW wear indicators fitted, 2 in front & 1 in back)

After that, reset can't be performed on brake Pads.

When I check the car with ISTA, CBS says 255% for both front & rear brakes.

I'm not able to reset them to 100% ?

Front brake is OK with 40.000 KM for example - but still at 255%.

When reading from Tool32 - DSC_87.prg - mileage is -32768 KM for both.

2 errors is in DSC module with the overdue Brakepad mileage.

I've thied this:

Open up Tool32.exe (in the C:\EDIABAS\BIN folder).

Open File (or just press F3) 'DSC_87.PRG' (in the ECU folder).
In the left Column, under Jobs, choose CBS_RESET.

To reset Front brake pad sensors, under center column (Arguments), type:
Br_v;100;31;255;255;8000h;Fh;FFh;FFh;00h
Click Jobs menu and select Start Job Once Only (or just press F5)

To reset Rear brake pad sensors, under center column (Arguments), type:
Br_h;100;31;255;255;8000h;Fh;FFh;FFh;00h
Click Jobs menu and select Start Job Once Only (or just press F5)

That gives an error in Tool32 speechless

Tried with ;;;;;8000h;;;;; - for writing only mileage - no luck.

Is it a new DSC unit ?

try reset with unplugged indicator, then connect again and try.
if it doesnt work update your dsc module.

Have you tried to update DSC?

Will try with disconnected wear indicators.

Some say,- that a resistence of LESS than 1 Ohm should be in a new OK indicator. And you should try with wire jumper.

Haven't programmed it - yet.

New indicators from BMW has been ordered

Been here before, you need to follow the other CBS correction vehicle data and enter the pad thickness.

add +KCBS to VO, manually program DSC, calibrate dsc sensors and encode vehicle. try to reset

Hi, sometimes it is necessary to reset the KOMBI software via the service menu or diagnostics in order to be able to reset the wear indication. Technical Note: On some vehicles, the parking brake must not be applied to allow service intervals to be reset
