ISTA Error B7F6E4 HUD: defect in display lighting - gvitkis - 22-01-2022

Hi friends, I apologize if this topic has already been covered.

I adapted 6WB for the BMW F31 year 12/2012, the car had 6WA and HUD factory installed, the 6WB was bought new in BMW.
Everything works fine except the HUD.
The HUD runs for about 5 minutes, then disappears
I checked with ISTA and it shows error B7F6E4 HUD: defect in display lighting
If I change the 6WB to 6WA, the HUD works wonders.
Has anyone managed to solve this problem?
Infinitely thank you very much

No. Need to replace Hud with newer hardware.

Yes. If you see in etk Hud was replaced with new hardware in 2013 with introduction of NBT. I’ve tried this before unfortunately.

Thanks again for your reply.

But the strange thing is that the machine was built with 6WA-HUD-NBT, so the HUD should already have NBT compatible HARDWARE

Which I Level is the HUD running at? And at which the Kombi?
Try flashing the HUD to a newer I Level wink

If the HUD work with 6WA but not 6WB, try to flash FEM, KOMBI, HU to newer/same ilevel.
I've got similar situation before, and found out that FEM need to be updated as well.

The point is the hardware difference. You can try to update all and cross you fingers. But I still had to bite the bullet and put 6wa.

You are definitely right.

I upgraded whole machine to the latest I-STEP, still the same problem.
So the only solution is to change the HUD to a newer one or go back to 6WA
