VW Touareg RNS850 HN Map update problem - viliusv37 - 25-01-2022
Trying to update it to the HN 6.33.1 map version, however receive following error - picture attached. To my understanding it’s because of Firmware version.
So I’m trying to load K0821 version from P0825, it detect and I go through menu to update, but system reboot and nothing happens, still old Firmware version remain.. Can’t understand what’s wrong with it..

I don know that P0825 even exists. I know there are k0821 and P0824. Have you enabled GEM and deleted navdatabase, formated nav hdd partition and enabled user defined mode and updated the fw and maps by user def mode choosing all on Y?

P0825 is FW on last RNS850, beware these units have different HW, they are not compatible with older versions of FW. It is also not possible to upgrade older units to P0825!
However, new maps (modified Audi) 6.33.1 can be installed. All you have to do is activate user defined mode in the green menu and select the individual parts to be installed and then activate.

Can you clarify please. Can I update it to K0821 for this particular unit with current P0825, or not?
If so, is it the case of needing to do via Green Menu, user defined mode?

Downgrade to K0821 makes no sense. Moreover, this version of SW is not compatible with the new unit with factory SW P0825.
