F31 enet connection issue. - morto - 12-02-2022
Hello everyone, I just bought F31 from 2013 everything is right with car, but have problems with enet cable when tried to connect ista or esys. Ista show me vin and ip, but cant connect to the car like is not on ignition on. Esys say no zgw. Onnce I managed to connect to the car with the engine running, but reading speed was very low, took more than 5 minutes to read the vehicle info. I used the same cable and software configuration to many other f series cars without problem. Tried to connect ista via d can cable and connection was successful. I Used unicarscan adapter with bimmercode and bimmertool without any issues. Any suggestions what is could be wrong. I'm sure cable and software is in working order.

Try to Battery Reset the car. ->Remove negative terminal for 30 seconds. Then try again. Should work when your Equipment is okay

Or just let car go into sleep mode. After that connect enet cable. This usually happens when most adapters are connected before direct enet cable.
Sleep mode;
All illumination light of, start/stop button, hazard light button lights switch. If illumination light from those components is off you can assume car is in sleep.
Fastest way to achieve this is force sleep mode if possible with your tools. Or lock car and be patient can take up to 30min

is this continuous or sporadic?

Hi, yes continuous, from last 10 tries connection via enet cable with ista was successful only one time. And problem is only with this car. Today after an unsuccessful attempt to connect my car, I tried on my friend's f10, even without restarting ISTA and it connected without a problem in seconds.
p.s. I haven't tried to disconnect the battery yet.

10 times is considerable amount of tries to conclude that something is wrong with car. battery reset is usually a cure for enet when obd port is stuck from icom diagnosis.

I'm sure cable and software is in working order.I had exactly same issues where Enet would work with other cars but would do exactly same for some f3x and f2x series ended up trying another Enet cable which solved the issues
