Replacing water damaged ATM and esim swap (and PSA) - jce777 - 04-03-2022

Hello everyone.

PSA first. Check that your shark fin antenna cover is well sealed. Failure causes water to go inside and damage roof mount Telematics module.

Well, as you may imagine, my ATM was water damaged. I got a used ATM (same part number and same software). I managed to swap the esim to the new working unit, upon installation, SOS warning on dashboard cleared but I have no access to remote services or SOS call.

What I've done:

- Swap eSim, new ICCID shows on tool32 so swap went fine.
- Coding of the unit (coded using ESYS).
- Tried provisioning options on tool32.

What happens:

- no errors on dash
- sometimes ATM shows error: SIF:ONLINE, but that's it
- no emergency call
- no apps (weather, etc)
- no remote services
- greyed out update services option

Hopefully someone who has gone though this could help.

Thanks!

What means coding the unit? Flash it to the same iStep as headunit. Do BL and SWFL deploy, then CD deploy to ensure that vin is changed to your cars VIN. IMEI will not change and it will never change unless you swap the modems which is not a fun job having 172 pins. So probably the Remote Services will not work, but dunno yet if IMEI has something do to with it, as NGTP is based on ICCID.

So again, flash the unit to the same istep and code the unit so it shows in cafd your long vin, which must be EVOs VIN. Flash is super quick, like 5 mins over UDS. The sw is small enough.

I have the same situation on G02 with Evo.
I have damaged ATM and want change with used one (same part number).
I can swap eSim, no problem.
But I don’t know if we need to keep original IMEI too, to have Remote Services working.
If yes, where is stored original IMEI ?
Can someone explain, please ?
Thank you!

Why do you do that?
You can buy an original atm and don't has any problems.
