ISTA Stand-alone Upgrading? - John.Smith - 09-03-2022

Hello fellow enthusiasts. Quick question. I’ve been searching around the forum with no luck. From what I’ve gathered, the standard is to download each entire release of ISTA, and install fresh each time, Including SDP, etc. Is that the consensus? Much appreciated!

It depends on what you want
SDP is required for programming only, so you don't need it at all if you use ISTA for diagnostic purposes
As for releases there are two ways to follow where the first is official / paid one and the second is non official / standalone
Since you are interested in such stuff you obviously use standalone versions that you have to reinstall every time you need a newer one

Yes! You’re correct, we’re using Stand-alone and thank you to Sedoy for providing the software.

You can use Ista launcher console by pshoey/Sedoy to update databases and SDP using deltas. Then just delete Ista program files and copy latest version. That's how I've always done it.
