Car won’t crank after replace used DME - simonchs - 29-04-2022

Hello,

The car is F87 LCI M2 Competition manual transmission, got a donor DME from eBay, changed ISN and reset working hours to zero by AutoHex. And then installed to the car, flashed BTLD/SWFL/CAFD by E-sys and success. P/N of DME should be fine as E-sys don’t indicate need to replace.

When trying to start the engine, it won’t crank and kombi said the car not in neutral gear.

Had read the faults by ISTA (as attached pics), I’ve tried to teach-in gear sensor, but it required to start engine to run at idle speed and I can’t start the engine.

May I have any ideas? Thanks.

Looks like you have a dead PT-CAN. What was the reason to replace DME in the first place?

Looks like your dme is still searching for auto transmission. If car is native manual did you try to reset adaptions?

Incorrect data record... Get in touch with support to validate 0 hours at dme. Seems that WH is the issue

DME want the EGS to respond. Which is obviously not installed.
Convert DME to manual trans.

Autohex is not resetting the working hours correctly. Post the DME files, we will reset working hours. Then flash the DME to manual transmission software.

A funny story, the customer leaves his car for tuning, the shop gets out his DME for bench tuning but lost it during taking public transport.

As many feedback in this thread said the issue seems related with working hours, I've tried to read operating hour counter in ISTA, and the result as attached.

The counter value shouldn't be that if AutoHex reset working hours correctly?

As I told you contact Autohex support.... I have seen some cases and I have faced same situation with Autohex, there are some ecus where the tool does not reset WH even it says that it does.
