This is the strangest thing I have heard in a long time. Why not tie them away from the disc and they will never wear out not give any warning

You can link the two wires. There's no way to do it with software.

Yes. Just replace pads/sensors and reset it.

I also needed to do for race cars with race brakes and only way was to bend sensors besides, no way to do by software.
