S1000RR 2020 VIN - HeLLs - 10-09-2022

Hi thereĀ hi,

I read on the forum that some of you manage to modify the VIN in the BMW ECU

But I couldn't find any information to do it or explanation, software, device... on the forum via search

Can someone quickly give me some hints/information on how to do this?

Modifying vin is not easy, it is stored many times in eeprom . you can read eeprom with kess or transdata etc then edit in a hex editor, but you will need to update checksums etc . its generally not worth the hastle . key data can be changed easily but vin is much much more involved

in reality you modify it with hexadecimal copy and paste over the old one... the checkusm then calculates it the tool that writes...

Bosch med17 eprom = most tools dont calculate the eprom checks at write

flash = yes
eep = no
