BMW G30 Sunblind roller / rear window - German80 - 19-10-2022

Hi All,

I want to retrofit the SunBlind Roller.

As I understand from electric schemes and some descriptions:

HKFM control unit is needed only for G11 G12 models.

----------------------------------------------------------------

The drive for the roller sunblind on the rear window is activated by the tailgate function module (HKFM).

The current for the direct current motor increases as soon as one of the two end positions is reached. Using the difference between the currents, the HKFM control unit identifies when the end position has been reached and switches off the direct current motor.

----------------------------------------------------------------
For G30 G38 HKFM no needed according to electrical schemes.

And another question?

is it possible to extract the sunblind roller from the penal using an external power source like a 12v DC (for the test)?

To get start the electric motor without connecting to BDC and Driver's door switch block.

P.S.

Driver's door switch block

The roller sunblind is operated from the switch block in the driver's door.

The driver's door switch block transmits its signals to the Body Domain Controller (BDC) through the LIN bus.

The power distribution box supplies the switch block on the driver's door with power via terminal 30B.

As far as I remember, you need to replace BDC. Add 416 to your FA and calculate SVT to check it.

Yes, U right I need to replace BDC :0(.

I think better to find a solution to operate the sunblind roller from an external source.

Strange, I retrofitted 360 view, and the ICAM3 (surround view) ECU which I installed, as well needed to be replaced according to my SVT calc. But it is perfectly working.

Because you installed the ICAM3 from only god knows what vehicle. It can be incompatible due to different factory I-levels. On the opposite, this is your BDC which is not matched with the equipment you are trying to install.

As my BDC is missing a relay to operate sunblind.

There is a solution to using a reverse polarity rocker switch.
