BMW e87 n47 2007 starting issue - lustek - 04-01-2023
Hi,
Have e87 in manual gearbox with weird starting problem.
To start engine you need to click start-stop button few times (sometime 2x, sometime 20x). Engine try to start but only turn a little bit and starter stop working.
When i connect starter direct to 12v it working all the time without issue and engine start.
Two faults was stored in DDE:
- dde main relay
- neutral gear calibration adjustment
What I already did:
- replace dde main relay
- replace starter
- replace main ground wire beetwan body and engine
- update dde
- check wire beetwan starter and plugs in ecu box
After dde update i done neutral gear calibration with succes but car still have problem with starting.
Anybody had same issue and found solution?
As far as I know signal goes directly from CAS, so it could be faulty cas module?
What aboute power management module located in ecu box? Or jbbe?

check the main "+" cables for oxidation - in the rear of the car - near battery

Also check the the positive battery connection point in the engine bay. My e90 330i had the the same problem before, caused by the cable detach from the joint, see the picture attached.

In a E87 also check oxidation on positive cable under car. Behind battery you have two bolts. Depending of equipment of your car on both are positive cables or on one. Now go under car and check there, if cable is ok. My did not look good

Checked today all positive and ground joint. Thay are ok.
After disconnecting ibs, car start aprox. 50 times OK, but than...same issue.
Will try to repair and write feedback whan find solution
