[RESTARTED] icom next clone repair (only single pcb) - ____ANGEL___ - 08-01-2023

I want to restart a thread that was lost after the db recovery. These informations belongs to Ferrum, it's not my work. May this can be useful to someone that has a icom clone single pcb version, this thread is only related to icom with single pcb. If Ferrum would like to give suggestions here i'd be really happy.

Due to wrong assebly by chinese production, check all this:

swap

R292<->R293

R155<->R156

R178<->R179

check or change

R15  52ohm

R119  1k

R280 R285 R195  38k

Y4  33000 3.3v

R233  62k (r233 can be left unchanged. R233 installed 47k and should be 62k but this is not critical)

R178 100k

R179 1.4k

R156 72ohm

R292 72ohm

R155 1K

R293 1K

other infos in attachments.

RE: [RESTARTED] icom next clone repair (only single pcb) - ferrum - 09-01-2023

Now in the Chinese market, 3 varieties are sold with different errors. Only one R119 error is repeated in all clones. There are clones in which the quartz is set at the correct frequency of 33000 but it has other critical errors.

Not everyone needs to change places
R292<->R293
R155<->R156
Not everyone needs
R15  52ohm
Y4  33000 3.3v
Some added other errors that are not described here.
If your icom board has R15 52ohm then this guide does not fully address the fixes that need to be done

Small PCB with switch must be done by me to make ICOM restore?

Yes, you are right.

The restore function is extremely rarely needed, since in most cases it is associated with the repair and replacement of microcircuits. I don't install the board and only use it when I need it.

If you need a restore button, I drew a diagram that is understandable even to a non-repair specialist and it is quite easy to reproduce it.

The contact going to the LM77 is a connection with 3.2v, it can be taken from another place.
Difficulties may arise when soldering to the 42nd leg of the mega16 and this must be done very carefully without damaging the microcircuit, since in the event of a breakdown, the mega16 can only be taken from the donor

Rarely needed, but without serial change and restore, ICOM will give fan error, am I right?

The button can be connected neatly without a bunch of wires

I make these wires myself, they fit clones and originals

One more question - I saw that some ICOM NEXT's have some cheaper versions, without one of port's - the round one with 5 pins. What is purpose of this port? There is no matching cable for it.

Imib oscilloscope

So I assume, that this port is not neccessary? Or there is some more differences?
