I need some information about the oil filter on a Mini Cooper S 2017:
When searching for the oil filter all car part sites come up with 2 version is there a way to identify which one is correct without taking the old one off.

You will have to be more specific about car and/or what you see somewhere. As far as I see all flavors of Cooper S 2017 have THE SAME oil filter in the official parts catalogue. Part # 11428570590. If you want EXACT official part #, provide your VIN.

For this VIN still same oil filter part # 11428570590. There is a bigger set which also includes oil filter, it's cover, heat exchanger and set of gaskets (part # 11428585235). But the oil filter itself in it is the same.
