FORD FIESTA VI 1.6 TDCI (95HP) no start - emifive - 10-02-2023

Hi all I have a problem with FORD FIESTA VI 1.6 TDCI (95HP) will not start. Very good fuel pressure when cranking but no start except will run on easy start. No trouble codes, I have tried blanking off Common rail to injector pipes but no use. Can anyone help me.

Start with the basics, check the compression

No problem with compression. On cranking if I run real time data I get rpm but I will have to check by disconnecting camshaft sensor or crankshaft sensor to know which sends rpm signal. Could it be that one of those sensors sends rpm and the other sends signal to injectors?

I have discovered that the rpm signal comes from the crankshaft sensor So from that information I think the signal from the camshaft is for injectors. Can anyone confirm that for me, So more than likely I may have a problem with camshaft sensor.

hi emifive
if crank or camshaft sensor not working you would have fault code
but you say no fault codes stored if that the case then it must be mechanical issue.
put noid light on injector to see if working correctly.
i would of said fuel shut off on pump but if you got fuel pressure then no.
maybe air leak on fuel system somewhere check fuel lines and filter housing drawing air into system.

Very basic yes, but have you checked for spark? Remember, combustion have three basic requirements, Air, Fuel and Spark.

Spark on diesel engine ? If you think about glow plugs, this car start without it.
First step @emifive. Car start with starting spray ? And rpm and syncro are ok ?

try to do PMI on PCM, in the worst scenario you will need to do basic settings again, and still with that you will be able to check if module is correct comunicating with the gateway or the other modules even without DTC's (if not you will recive a error during PMI process)

I have just ordered a noid light as I don't have one, I will report back soon. Thanks you have given me a lot to go on with.

I got and tried a Noid light but I have no signal at each injector when cranking. Every now and then I can get it to start and run with no issues, but if I leave the car for more than 30 minutes I am back to same issue no start except on easy start.
