Can I extract the BLP and SDP for 4.40.12 (using 7zip) from these and put the files in the data and data_swi folders and be able to use Esys for updating the ECUs?
Yes, although given the extracted psdzdata folder is 286 Gb, I would not also put in Data Folder. Your E-Sys C:\Data\psdzdata folder should just be a symbolic (MLINK) link to ISTA C:\Program Files (x86)\BMW\ISPI\TRIC\ISTA\PSdZ\data_swi\psdzdata folder.

You CAN'T just extract SDP istapackage. There are many delta files which need to be applied by launcher.

Maybe, but he mentioned 7zip. Why would be need that, if he would already have installed files... So thought it's worth mentioning. As you end up with crippled data if you just use 7zip to extract sdp istapackage...

If upgrading from 4.39.36, BMW_ISPI_ISTA_FULL-SDP_4.40.10.istapackage is needed or it is only needed for a new installation?

The 50GB delta sdp upgrade file is enough.

I think clean installation or your version far behind 4.39.36.
