Check for a broken/bent pin on the ECU

I suspect a broken cable. there have been other cases
command in injection unit/actuators/force glowplug heating, and check for wires in connectors, continuity,+dc,etc, etc
ET160 preheating inactive is normal....if you stayed a few minutes with +dc on diag...inj.unit cut off current on glowplugs

Now I read more carefully.. you say that it still starts ok, and runs for 3 seconds.if you replaced the computer collection... you should find in the injection ecu, learning procedures for the high pressure pump, injector codes, etc
I had cars with this code, and it still worked well (DTC038096) if the rest was ok.if the outside temperature is over 10-12 degrees and everything is ok, compression, injection pressure, it doesn't even need glowplugs

i get two message comming up in the dashboard

1) check hill start assistance

RE: DTC038096 Preheating unit diagnostic connection - massilos - 12-04-2023

1) check hill start assistance this come from the abs pump i didnt replaced as yet as i only connected the abs modul to van leaving the old pump there i assume it should start
