X3 n46 can’t bleed air of cooling system - bosna1973 - 22-04-2023

X3 n46 can’t bleed air of cooling system
Already changed pump, thermostat, radiator but no luck upper hose is always empty full of air

Did you try to follow the ISTA repair instructions?

I can’t find in ista any instructions plus n46 have mechanical pump behind power steering pump which spinning water pump

1. Basically you fill it up with the bleeding screws open, then close the screws but leave the cap off.
2. Start the engine and wait until you see coolant coming out of the small hose at the top of the reservoir, then close the cap.
3.  Leave the engine idle for a while, wait for it to cool down, and top off. You want the thermostat to open so make sure it reaches operating temperature.Be prepared to top it off a few times as needed.

That is what i did but can’t get water flow from expansion reservoar if I don’t press pedal and get around 2k rpm

And why did you change pump thermostat etc?
