Hi, I am trying to return the DME on a 2017 F80 M3 Competition back to stock.
The car used to have ECUTEK flash tune on it in the past, we cannot flash any other tune on it now, or even return the DME back to stock, BootMod fails, and all other flash tools fail. The error is something like "cannot erase memory block".
All the safe flashing conditions are met, ignition on, battery charger connected, all doors closed, lights all off, voltage at 14v... etc.
So lastly, we decided to try ISTA+, and ISTA showed the below error. So now it makes sense why all the other tools were failing to flash this DME too.
How can we reset the flash counter back to zero? Can tool32 do this on the F80 platform?

It's not about flash counter reset, your ecu was previously tuned (custom or bm3/mhd) Which is a custom bootloader not like the factory one, that means it can't be easily restored back to stock state definitely ISTA won't do it! Can by done with esys.

post BMW part number, BOSCH ecu number. restore from clone.
