2012 Golf Mk6 DSG - Transmission issue - jamesworts - 18-08-2023

Hi,

I have a customer with 2012 Golf 1.6 diesel, DSG.

They replaced the gearbox with one from 2016 golf, but, now the P light is flashing and engine ecu cannot see the new gearbox.

I can connect to the new gearbox with diagnostics, so I know it is working.

I tried to clone data from old gearbox EEPROM and FLASH,
but when I went to new gearbox I had to change how to read as it wouldn't connect. Was going to put files in, but got file size error so did not proceed.

I tried to adapt with ODIS, but it kept failing due to no comma with gearbox.

Gearboxes have same part numbers on, but from memory one is G2 and one is MQB when trying to read them.

The new one is showing as DQ200G2_M

Any ideas?

Thanks

Same part numbers but difrent softwares.
Have You tried to match new gearbox with GEKO ONLIE ?
But first You have to take SW number from ORI and flash new with correct SW.

You need to read flash and EEPROM from the old and wrote on the new otherwise will never work.

I saw that you tried but not succeded.
Go to someone that have the wright tools and knowledge to do that.

Thanks, but I have the correct tool, Launch Eurotab3 with Immo Xprog3

It gave a warning that the file size was incorrect so didn't want to proceed without asking people who know.
I appreciate what you say about "go to someone with knowledge" how will I learn if I don't try myself? We all learn from someone.

Thanks

I tried online geko, but I think software has to changed first?

My pourpose was not to offend you.
But, some things cannot be learned by yourself untill someone shows you how to do it.

If you are 100% sure that your reading from the old gearbox is correct, go ahead and write it on the new one.

No offence taken! It's good advice. Thank you.

That can't be true. MQB and G2 can't have the same part number.

This is a Golf MK6. It's immo doesn't care for gearbox. So no need for GEKO.
