Hello, i search the Firmware Update SW30 for my MFD2 Navigation System.
And the latest Map for Europe.

How to:
1. burn both images at LOW SPEED (2x-4x)
2. turn ignition on and make sure there are no power supply interruptions (you can start the engine to have good current)
3. press NAV button on your unit and put VWMFD2DVDEU0030.iso into MFD drive it will start to update the firmware - THIS MAY TAKE UP TO 30-40 MINUTES
4. after update done press NAV again and put the UNLOCK CD. unlocking takes just a few seconds the screen will show progress bar in a loop but once it completes single cycle it is safe to remove the disk from unit.
after that you should be ready to use self burned DVD+R DL disks however you still need to burn them on GOOD QUALITY DISKS AND AT LOW SPEEDS (2x). this has been tested with the VW EUROPE MAP and reported to work ok.
All FW for Europe and USA.

All good on paper, but in 90% of cases unit will not read map DVD, because this is one of the most sensitive units for reading copied discs. AFAIK only some LG vintage burners are capable to write a working copy (if the MFD2 laser lens isn't worn or dirty in the first place). Speaking from my personal experience and experience from the various forums from the times when MFD2 updates still had yearly updates (5+ y ago).
