F30 fem supply voltage to TMS error - kklobo - 14-09-2023
Hi i have f30 2013 328xi ece. Many errors but i need help with this one:
no communication with tms right.
Ground is good,
lin bus is good checked with scope
i have 12v on pin 5 on unplugged headlight but when i connected it to headlight voltage drops to 0.1v i checked also with bulb i check tms and its fried, check wire but unfortunately is good i cut wire and check voltage with bulb on fem side and have same voltage drop.
Voltage is produced by fem no fuses on this circuit pin is 173*3b pin38 is fem also fried? is possible to repair that kind of fault ?

Hello.
What kind of headlights do you have?
If they are xenon, then you have a headlight drive module in the headlight. Treibermodul Scheinwerfer 2 pcs. 63 11 7 316 147 or if you have the $524 option then Treibermodul Scheinwerfer
2 pcs. 63 11 7 316 186
Most likely you will have to replace this module.
Easy to check! remove this module from the working headlight and swap places.
Everything must change. Replace this module.
Most often this happens if there is water in the headlight. (sweats)
If I understand correctly, your right headlight is not working?
Remove your module from the left headlight and insert it into the right headlight.
and check.

There's no need changing TMS so right was fried a had speare TMS but no AHL that not working on right side on left had communication so must be supply voltage issue.
Is there reset short circuit counter like e series with tool32 on f series car ?

If there is a short circuit in the errors during diagnosis, ISTA+ handles it perfectly.
If there are no short errors, then there is nothing to reset.

You write, You have voltage at the connector that goes to the headlight (with the headlight off). What complaints can there be about the FEM block???

There is no error but short circuit protection set in tool32 I reset like e series car, now have 12v and my backup TMS works fine except AHL function of course, I buy new TMS AHL and case closed
