NTG 3.5 hardware repair expert - Mirarty - 02-10-2023
Hello guys I'm struggling to repair my NTG3.5 and I'm looking for an expert who has experience with these units. I'm willing to pay for the knowledge.
The issue started as an intermittent no-boot issue. On cold days the unit worked as expected. On hot days the unit doesn't boot. I opened the unit and I believe I isolated the problem to NOR flash on PCB; part number GL512N11FFA02. When I heated up the part the unit didn't boot. When I cooled down the part, the unit booted up. This was pretty consistent and easily repeatable. I tried to reflow the part and the behavior didn't change much. I also tried to replace the part but since the part is pre-programmed and I don't have a dump of the flash the new part doesn't do anything obviously. I reballed the original part and soldered it back, the unit now doesn't boot regardless of temperature. I would also like to mention even if the unit doesn't boot I can still connect with DAS to it, so it is not completely dead.
Has anyone experienced this issue before or have any suggestions on what to do? These units are pretty expensive even used ones, I would like to fix it if possible.

U can send this device to oematic.pl - he repaired tons of NTG3.5.
