e91 eeprom cluster orange lcd - xMoses - 19-11-2023
Hey guys, im kinda frustrated.
Ive got 2 high cluster from E9x on my bench.
Did an readout that was bad and wrote both eeproms with that.
So i took my personal e91 cluster out and did an eeprom read (low cluster).
Then wrote both eeprom with that. Now i have 2 problems. When the eeprm is upside down, i get a orange screen on the lcd but the cluster works as usual. RPM/ Tank etc.
besides the lcd, thats just orange.
If i turn the eeprom the other way around, i see 999999 miles (KM Cluster)... Which I guess is the wrong direction cuz it shows 999999 miles and it doesn adjust itself to the car.
Is there anything im missing ? Both cluster have orange lcd when soldering eeprom back..

Eeproms are not interchangeable, they contains uncodeable parameters like pointers for functions (eg tempomat), needles set points, software configurations for display type and warning lights, etc ..... That's why when you change an instrument cluster you have to reset mileage and vin and not exchange eep.(unless the clusters are the same for hw and sw)

So how can i save the eeprom?
Search for identical dump with same HW / SW ?

That's an idea, try to search in collections thread or post here hw sw label by the two clusters
