ISTA D - identification possible, unable to get status of each module - thedafeet - 03-03-2024

Hey, this is the first time I have encountered such trouble using ISTA. It sees car vin and all the data perfectly fine, but it is unable to show the control unit tree. It seems that even after doing complete test with identification, it only identifies the car. You can then press "start test" again, but nothing happens.

Is it possible that JBE/ZGW is dead somehow, even though car is working fine? Did you guys ever had such problem? Thanks!

I've experienced this when switching from CAN to Ethernet as preferred communication method in ISTA.
I don't know why Ethernet doesn't work, maybe it's related to ICOM firmware.

You could have issues with your CAN bus. How are you connecting?

I have just tested it on the same settings with some other cars, works perfectly fine. So is that possible that JBE does something like this?

What kind of car is this? What is the car doing / malfunction that you need to scan the vehicle?

IMHO user0086 told you the correct solution. Have you checked that??? It's symptoms are exactly what you have - on SOME cars.

e81 with PDC module dipped in water (body painters probably drove without rear bumper and stuff). Kl15 with voltage even without ignition. Replaced the module, car now starts fine, pdc is working properly but without any success in scanning the modules

Not sure if I understand you guys correctly, I only use ICOM for Ista, Im not using enet cable.

@edit

I ended up checking the connection settings, yet it turned out it is an issue on the part of the car. In some weird way I managed to get to the modules. I went to page with control unit tree, pressed "Call up ECU functions" and then it read the whole fault memory itself. I only dont have communication with CAS, car starts and works fine, I guess you might be right with the can bus faulty line right there. Thank you all!
