Virginised 6WA Install Slight Mileage Increase - SK223 - 28-03-2024

Hi there,

So I recently retrofitted HUD into my LCI F32, and therefore had to get a cluster that had the blue apix port on it. My car originally had 6WA already so I found a used 2017 6WA cluster with the port and had someone virginise it for me.

Also to note, after it was virginised I noticed that the mileage was 00118 miles instead of 00000 on the bench. Fitted the cluster into my car and coded using e sys and it went well, no tamper dot or anything. But then I noticed that my mileage increased by 2 miles. Not by much but it surprised me since I had done a 6WA retrofit before and mileage was the same. I’m aware that the KOMBI takes the highest mileage in the car and uses that to sync mileage and that 2 miles/4km shouldn’t be a worry but just wanted to double check before anything else happens.

The EGS reads 4km less that the virginised 6WA cluster, DDE reads the same as the KOMBI, 4km higher that EGS. But noticed that when I placed my original cluster back in the car the mileage went back to what it was before. Also the difference between KOMBI and EGS is only 1km, and the KOMBI and DDE reports same mileage.

I’ve tried to search for the mileage in other ECU’s on ISTA but can’t find anything to compare it to as I’m aware that the mileage is also stored in the FEM but can’t find it.

Any thoughts on this or is this usual?

This is normal. Milage can vary a bit between modules. As long as it doesnt increase 5km every time you turn on the igntion... Then its an EEPROM issue.

Ah so it’s nothing to worry about then.

Also is there any way to check the mileage on other modules?
