BMW 2011 F10 CIC Retro Fit Advice
Hi all, new this so please bear with me.
Looking to retro fit a CIC sat nav system to my 2011 BMW F10. It currently has the bog standard alpine head unit without sat nav and 7inch screen. Firstly, can anyone advise me on which head unit is best for retro fitting, the Alpine Champ2 or the Harman Becker CIC-High? Secondly, the Alpine Champ2 model I've seen is from a 2013 model and has DAB. Is it possible to retro fit the DAB and is it worth the hassle. Thirdly, are there any step by step guides on how to code the car and new head unit? I have E-sys and a ENET cable, are these sufficient to do the job also? Thanks P |

RE: BMW 2011 F10 CIC Retro Fit Advice
Go with the pro nav option. The business is not worth it. If you can do DAB as well, its a nice thing to have.
There are many many many guides on this on the web, but if you dont know the ins and outs of the CIC you are better off paying (or trying to get free help) from someone of here (like me). You can do this with ENET and ESYS yes. EDIT: problem these days are that even though forums are for helping eachother out, very few are willing to actually give out correct information. Unfortunately. But thats the way things are changing towards i guess. | BimmerFiks AS | Instagram | |

RE: BMW 2011 F10 CIC Retro Fit Advice
Dab is indeed nice extra. But you have to change the antenna amp for the rear window and also maybe the roof arial. Check wiring to see if your roof arial already has dab function.
Issue with champ2 is activating navigation which can only been done with emulator. CIC prof you can use intels patch here on forum. Overall I would prefer CIC prof instead of champ2. |

Thanks guys for your advice, looks like i will be going down the CIC professional route and maybe go with an after market dab system at a later date.
My car currently has Bluetooth and a rear camera, i take it these would continue to work once the head unit has been changed? |

TBH, I see no reasons to go with CIC nowadays. NBT prices fell down and it's almost equal in price to buy NBT or CIC+Combox.

RE: BMW 2011 F10 CIC Retro Fit Advice
I think I will probably stick with the CIC Professional as seems to be a lot more straight forward.
The back of the unit I'm looking at looks like the image attached, can anyone tell me what the orange connection is for and does it have to be connected as I don't have a orange cable on the wiring loom? |
