BMW E60 N52 Gear shifts to neutral on the move
I am trying to figure out a problem with a 5 series E60 that goes to neutral when turning right!!
I have checked voltage and occasionally this rises for brief moments to 15.02v when all consumers are on. I replaced old alternator with a another one (used) as that one showed sudden voltage drop to 10v briefly and back up again. It was very unstable. Voltage is stable, now between 14.2 and briefly 15.02v. Mostly around 14.7v Problem with shift to neutral remains. There is also a regular error on "increased battery discharge", a quick test plan seemed to point to DME. Strange, very strange, never seen a dme cause battery discharge! Car starts in the morning ok no real battery drain, so if DME has an issue, it seems to still fall asleep ok. I will find time to probe deeper, any ideas or similar experiences would help. Could it be a faulty mechatronic? No EGS error at all. |
