RE: Vauxhall Insignia SRI 2012 doesn’t start
Check all the fuses and fusible links if equipped.
Overvoltage may have bricked any number of modules. If someone took the time to help you, the least you can do is take a few seconds and press two buttons!
Thanks + reputation. |

Assuming this is an uk vehicle, replacing all fried components might be more expensive then the car itself.

RE: Vauxhall Insignia SRI 2012 doesn’t start
Hi,
what do you mean with "won't start" ? Does it crank and just not starting? Or do you have nothing at all even when turning on the ignition? In any case, before going to deep into something, check ALL the fuses. if they are all fine... the next item "in the line" would be the ecu modules itself. And than it is realy bad situation. Even I believe MOST of the ecu's etc should handle 24V without burning Because the voltage regulators inside are never just for 12V battery voltage. Some even can handle up to 48V in and still have an 12V or 5V out (depending on the ecu). So... chances are there, but I hope for you it's just an fuse And check the Ground-Connection points. If something gets hot from overvoltage those points are the first that melt. For testing you could use an jumper wire and attach an ground wire from Battery - to the cassis or the engine, and see if something returns to live. |

If I needed a new BCM or something If brand new module - buy subscription to SPS and it will take care of it. If used - need to be handled with DPS (VIN/PIN relearn), and then with SPS to load correct calibration files. |

Clocks , keys barrel , all modules etc aslong it’s from similar year same spec and same engine ? Thanks |

RE: Vauxhall Insignia SRI 2012 doesn’t start
If you don't care about VIN mismatch between electronics and body frame...
However, it is much cheaper and easier to perform a relearn. Some sellers may even offer to program VIN and calibrations, so it is a plug-and-play job for customer. Access to SPS is ~50 EUR + VAT - and you can program all modules which can be updated to newer FW. VIN/PIN relearn files for DPS may cost you 100-200$ in total. However, it requires some DIY and research to perform everything correctly. |

Thanks for the reply where’s the best place to begin to learn about programming the modules etc with SPS DPS I’ve done coding modules before BMW so would like to learn how to do it with Vauxhall Thanks |

RE: Vauxhall Insignia SRI 2012 doesn’t start
* Update *
I’ve changed all modules and now I get this error shown in the pic. My car doors are working now all dead locks gone Windows working all electrics etc But car won’t start if I turn the key a few times it will begin to start but cut off. Would this be related to the immobiliser kicking in ? |
