u2100:00-2F - engine light on

Which has been since the owner mapped it with kess via obd 

now its missing its vin

Car runs drives no limp mode, just has the one fault code but he has asked for help

he did write back the stock read but that also did not help

would a dtc off work 
or is this a new ecu 

was fine before map 
now with stock of modded file same fault
