Hi all, 

I spent most of the past installing aftermarket ECUs and never fooled with stock ECUs.
I am just a trying to experiment with stock ECUs and see if its worth it for me to invest in expensive tools to do so. 

For the time being am trying to find a cheap alternative to read and write to EDC17cp09 on a 2009 BMW 335D, so far every tool I got doesn't do this ecu. I am willing to pay for something up to $300 or so but I do see many remote tuners that do this using a cheap OBD2 cable and remote desktop. 

I am trying to experiment with this car and learn. Please let know know if you know of a solution that would work for me. 

Note: the car is not may daily and am willing to risk it! I also would like obd flash over bench flash because this will be an ongoing thing and I don't want to keep opening and closing the ECU as I learn.

This Ecu isn’t easy to do via OBD because you can’t read it this way. I do it mostly with X17, there is a virtual read option and you can finish job without removing ecu.

With your budget you could buy KTM Bench, it supports bench reading and writing without opening Ecu, but you have to take it out from the car, which is in 10 min done on e9x.
