BMW Explorer change power class MEV1722
Hi,
I am considering to buy BMW Explorer specifically for MINI, but I have a couple of questions about its functionality. Their website is not very clear about it. I'd like to change the power class of the MEV1722 control unit for the Mini R56 LCI. I understand that this is possible by resetting the "system time". Is this possible with BMW Explorer via OBD (on the latest I-level), or do I need ECU Explorer and/or open the ECU? Also, I have read somewhere that the power class is also stored in CAS, is this true and can BMW Explorer change the power class in the CAS as well? Finally, since it is almost impossible to remove the CAS from a MINI, how likely is it that BMW Explorer will brick my CAS when modifying ISN or reading key data if I make sure that the conditions are good? Thanks! |

RE: BMW Explorer change power class MEV1722
You can reset the system time with ECU-Explorer for changing the power class. With BMW-Explorer can you code the power class int the CAS but you need the coding license. With NCS you can easy code the power class in the CAS
