I have trouble with what is supposed to be Fenix 5:

Right to the point - immo trouble. A mate has Renault Megane Coupe y1996 with 1.6 engine that has had troubles with immo for a while. Key will not operate central locking , wont be recognized through learning process, but key itself ( with infrared led) works. Owner does have security code and he was driving it by entering it by operating central locking button .... Well stupid me wanted to help.... oh boy. I built TMS347 decoder based on attiny85 according to schematic on another forum. Finding chips was easy, but for some reason this ecu was overfilled with sealant - right to the top making it dead flat unlike all fenix 5 I have seen on internet. Memory is AN28F512. So ... I hooked ecu up at home on the bench and to my surprise MIL was not blinking right away, but was on for a bit and than was blinking some code. Unfortunately I didn't pay attention to it. I hooked the decoder up to pin 22 of the memory and did the decoding. Bent the pin 37 and went to my mate to test it....... will not fire. MIL was off altogether, but immo light was blinking on its own. Soo thinking that it might have some sort of relay to switch ecu off - we entered pin. MIL went on straight away. Still no go, fuel pump is not working.

I did the decoding again on the car, without much success. Unbending the pin 37 didn't help. Even after entering pin code with pin 37 unbent it will not fire. Fuel pump is not working. Even when I manually input signal to fuel pump - it works but car will not start.

Any ideas?????

I have another question - Motronic mp7.0 fitted to espace, laguna or peugeot 406 v6 24v - its relatively easy to make it virgin, but will it work in this state without valid immo signal (like most Renault those years) or will it require immo emulator for sure?

Thing to add - from owner's words immo always interfered with fuel pump operation. When it was locked fuel pump wouldn't make a sound, but the moment he finishes entering the 4 digit code pump would start working. This is very different to the carlabimmo's description of fenix 5 ( their tms374 decoder based on Julie)

Here is a few videos how it behaves. When green led is on the decoder- ignition is on, when red - its sweeping. In these videos there are 2 additional lights - one for MIL and another one is on the fuel pump relay end. As you will see its not coming on any videos. Bulb itself is working and once it was on for a split second, and then never again.

Pay attention that in some videos I do not press the start button on the sweeper. I am monitoring how it behaves wit ign on only. Every video is different and I doubt I have covered all the things this ecu does.

Oh and another thing - in all pictures of Fenix5 I have seen - this one has different place of the flash!!!

I think this ecu is not good, after wiringup( on bench) must Immo led directly blinking ( if immo is ON ) and not blinking some code,,,if immo is Off then MiL stays ON ( dont more blinking)

Thank you guys for helping. I am reaching same conclusion that ECU is the problem. I have ordered another ECU and will have that tomorrow. As for this ecu - I still would like to investigate. I can read EEprom dump, but i have nothing that would cover TMS chip. I will try in the next few days unlocking it by playing with eeprom ( one of the solutions with temporary bin until its unlocked). Than will investigate into reading TMS.

Latest report - another ecu worked as a charm. Unlocked in minutes and car started straight away. Later when I was installing "new" ecu my mate kinda mentioned to me that old ecu did show signs of failure - a few month ago even renault dealership couldn't get ecu to respond to can-clip..... He should have mentioned that before.....

Out of curiosity - would anyone share schematic and bin file for renault universal decoder - I think someone called it "clicker" or similar. I just love having all kind of different tools.
