ESYS and ISTA-P to retrofit 6WB Cluster to F-Series -will this work?
Hi Guys,

your advice is needed. I am planing to retrofit a 6WB Instrument Cluster to my F-Series from 11/11.

I know, that I have to change the VO "Zeitkriterium" to a date when 6WB was official availible for my car. Also 6WB must be added to SALAPA Data.

Normaly as next the virgine (never used before) instrument cluster must be coded with E-Sys.

My Concern:
In cause that I do not know exactly what must be changed in Detail.
(The Tutorials are all for 6WA not for 6WB)

I am thinking about to connect standalone ISTA-P to the car and choose the official BMW meassurement plan for retrofiting the 6WB clusters. I am awaiting that ISTA-P gets the edited VO from the car and offers this item.

Whot do you think is this a good way?

Thanks for your input!

At least it was coded for you remotely?
The step by step instructions in the txt file was sufficient?

Would also be happy to get some comments regarding my plans with ista-p.
Thanks smile

Only e-sys, it's very easy,
On Ista/P retrofit or flash 6WB or others used ECU it's possible only if it matches with the born period of your car, example if your car it's 09/11 all used ecus must be of the same period, if you mount used kombi of 2014 you're out period, also esys tells you the same thing in another way, example ECUs out period are Blue, if you flash this ECU Need yours Istep-Shipment, obvious different from car's Istep-Shipment

Use esys
1. add 6wb to vo
2. pick latest cafd (determine cafd for swe)
3. code the KOMBI and CIC
If you have virginase eprom car will pick up your mileage and vin
after if you can you can program to latest soft using esys or ista
