CarPlay is not an option unfortunately for the new BMW X5 G05 delivered in Hong Kong (Asia). Options 6CP and 6DW are not allowed. 6NV is available in all cars though. Reference VIN - LB11710.

Despite not having 6DW, the car is broadcasting a WiFi network which has the vehicle’s VIN as part of its name. As it was a demo car, I didn’t get the chance to check this further. 


The head unit of this car is MGU from what I’ve gathered (not Alpine). Experts currently have no solution to activate CarPlay because it’s too new (including fscmap.com). 

If anyone has any solution to activate CarPlay, or provide any assistance, please get in touch. Appreciated your time. Thank you!

No solution
Most people working on MGU cant even get the radio to boot up, up to very recently. Maybe in the future. Those cars with MGU now have very serious security measures.

Thanks mate. If this ever change, pls let me know. I know a lot of people in Hong Kong who would love to get CarPlay in their X5 G05 activated since it doesn't come with it as default; not to mention China and Japan where the market is equally as big.
